Beaufort County Republicans welcomed Congressman Walter Jones and NC Supreme Court Justice Robert Edmunds. Beaufort County Republican Women, Beaufort County Republican Men, and the Down East Republican Club participated in the meeting. The meeting room at Hog Heaven was full. There were possibly as many as 100 attendees if not more. Attendees from Carteret, Dare, Craven, Hyde, Martin, Onslow, and Pitt counties were also present. The Republican Party is still alive in eastern North Carolina!

Congressman Jones and Justice Edmunds made excellent presentations and answered questions. It was a very intense interactive meeting. Greg Dority, candidate for Lieutenant Governor, and Dean Stephens, candidate for the 1st. Congressional District, also spoke.
